Discover Middle East Restaurant

If you’re searching for a Middle East Restaurant that delivers bold flavor and genuine hospitality in Corpus Christi, you’ll want to pull into 5405 Everhart Rd, Corpus Christi, TX 78411, United States. I’ve eaten my way through plenty of Mediterranean and Levantine kitchens over the years, from Houston’s busy café scene to family-owned spots in Dallas, and this place stands out for doing the basics exceptionally well. From the moment you step in, the aroma of grilled kebabs, toasted pita, and warm spices hits you in the best way possible.

The menu reads like a tour through the Levant. You’ll find hummus drizzled generously with olive oil, baba ghanoush with that subtle smokiness from roasted eggplant, falafel that crackles when you bite into it, and shawarma carved fresh from the spit. I ordered a mixed grill platter on my last visit-a combination of chicken tawook, kofta kebab, and lamb. The meats were marinated for hours in garlic, lemon juice, and spices before being flame-grilled. That marination process matters; according to the National Restaurant Association, diners increasingly prioritize authenticity and fresh preparation methods, and you can taste that commitment here.

What impressed me most was the balance of flavor. Middle Eastern cuisine relies heavily on ingredients like cumin, coriander, turmeric, and sumac, but they’re used thoughtfully rather than aggressively. The rice was fluffy and lightly seasoned, not oily. The tabbouleh was herb-forward with bright parsley and just enough bulgur for texture. This aligns with what nutrition experts from organizations like the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health often highlight about Mediterranean-style diets: an emphasis on whole grains, legumes, lean proteins, and healthy fats like olive oil. Eating here feels indulgent yet balanced at the same time.

I once brought a friend who had never tried Mediterranean food before. She was skeptical about dishes like grape leaves and kibbeh. The staff patiently explained how kibbeh is made-finely ground beef mixed with bulgur and spices, shaped into shells, and stuffed before being baked or fried. That small educational moment made a difference. By the end of the meal, she was already planning her next visit. Experiences like that show how service can elevate a restaurant from good to memorable.

The reviews you’ll find online echo similar sentiments. Many customers highlight the generous portions and fair pricing, especially for family-style dining. The location on Everhart Road makes it convenient whether you’re coming from downtown Corpus Christi or nearby neighborhoods. Parking is easy, and the casual diner-style setup makes it suitable for everything from quick weekday lunches to relaxed weekend dinners.

Another detail worth mentioning is the bread. Fresh pita is warmed just before serving, which keeps it soft and pliable-perfect for scooping dips or wrapping around grilled meat. That small step reflects a broader understanding of culinary technique. In Middle Eastern cooking, bread isn’t just a side; it’s a utensil and an essential part of the experience. Skipping that step would change the entire meal.

Of course, no place is perfect. During peak dinner hours, service can slow slightly because many dishes are prepared fresh rather than pre-cooked. Still, I’d argue that’s a trade-off worth making. Fresh shawarma shaved to order and falafel fried on demand simply taste better.

Corpus Christi might not be the first city people associate with authentic Levantine cuisine, yet this restaurant proves that great food travels well. With a thoughtfully crafted menu, welcoming atmosphere, and consistent quality reflected in customer reviews, it has carved out a reliable spot in the local dining scene. Whether you’re craving a hearty kebab plate, a vegetarian mezze spread, or just a strong cup of Turkish coffee to end your meal, this Everhart Road gem delivers real flavor without cutting corners.

  • Really doesn't look like much from the outside, but me and my husband really enjoyed this place! He likes Greek food a lot, me not as much, but the workers were super helpful in getting me something I would enjoy. I got the chicken shawarma plate but subbed the hummus for rice. My boyfriend got the gyro quesadilla which was AMAZING. The falafel was great too. I'm sure we will eventually return, it was fresh & delicious!

Our go to order is the - Fried Cauliflower - Dolmas with meat - Tabouleh - Samosas - Baba Ganouh - The kebab plate We also love the specials! Like chicken biryani or butter chicken. Definitely try the shawarma/gyro quesadilla too!

  • I’ve been to this place three times in the past week—that should tell you everything you need to know. I’ll be putting everyone on to this spot! The service is absolutely fantastic, the pastries are top-tier, and the Mediterranean food? The best I’ve had in Corpus Christi. I’m so glad I stumbled upon this gem—it’s become an instant favorite. If you're in the area, TRY IT.

  • The service personnel were cordial and demonstrated a genuine passion for the culinary offerings, providing excellent recommendations. The dishes exhibited a delightful blend of flavors and freshness. The portion sizes were adequate, and the Naan garlic bread was exceptionally well-prepared. My date opted for the chicken specialty, which was both tender and expertly seasoned.

  • I really enjoyed this place. I have been trying to find a good gyro place for a while now, and this is it. The staff is so nice and always lets us know about great menu items we should try. I have yet to taste something I don't like from this place. It's like a hidden little Gem in the city. They have the litte market attached too. I bought some really great supplies for my Christmas treats there this year. Plus, the little pastry section is really yummy as well.

Can't go wrong with the special of the day. My girl loves there deserts. There bread is so delicious. Humus is there rice is addictive. Everything is top notch. I love it .
